Voice is an 'alternative' social media platform that claims to be about "real" users, their communities and their content. It has announced that it will "upgrade" itself with a new feature: the ability to issue NFTs for the digital artwork posted thereon. They will apparently be integrated with the EOSIO blockchain basis Voice has taken up to drive its tokenization model.

Voice is an emerging Twitter rival that purports to be unique due to the tokens it is rated to issue in return for participation thereon, and that may also drive the visibility and popularity of content on the platform. Some prominent tech-world leakers such as Evan Blass and Steve Hemmerstoffer have switched to it as of late; however, their latest posts currently re-direct to an announcement concerning upcoming major changes to the site.

It details Voice's new plan to adopt non-fungible tokens, or NFTs. This ever-growing trend (ideally) represents the ability to conclusively prove ownership of a given piece of digital artwork. The concept has proved very lucrative for some content-creators, although its long-term viability remains to be seen.

Voice asserts that it might avoid some potential NFT disadvantages by making the content in question the token, rather than linking it to one. Furthermore, it claims that its use of the EOSIO blockchain and its "unique qualities" will reduce the potential CO2 emissions associated with its upcoming system, while enhancing its reliability in terms of ownership.

Finally, Voice will apparently charge zero gas fees in order to mint its NFTs. This new kind of token is currently set to start rolling out in the second to third quarter of 2021.
