Yesterday, Huawei introduced the Watch GT 3 Pro series, a set of smartwatches available in two sizes and four finishes. Also, the company revealed the Watch GT 3 Porsche Design, another version of the Watch GT 3 Pro, despite its name. For reference, the special edition smartwatch arrives just a few weeks after another Porsche Design product, the AGON Pro PD32M external monitor.
Fundamentally, the Watch GT 3 Porsche Design is the Watch GT 3 Pro with a few aesthetic changes, a trend that continues across the Porsche Design range. As Huawei's marketing images show, the smartwatch bears several Porsche Design logos, including on its physical crown. Similarly, Huawei has inscribed 'PORSCHE DESIGN' on the device's bezel, just in case you forgot which version of the Watch GT 3 series you were wearing.
Currently, Huawei only offers the Watch GT 3 Porsche Design as a 46 mm smartwatch. Accordingly, the smartwatch has a 1.43-inch AMOLED display and weighs 54 g without a strap attached on account of its titanium body. Huawei has not disclosed the Watch GT 3 Porsche Design's total weight, but it also includes a colour-matched black titanium strap. While the standard Watch GT 3 Pro has a titanium body too, only the Porsche Design comes with a titanium strap.
Incidentally, the Porsche Design has an invisible butterfly clasp, another feature that is unavailable on the standard Watch GT 3 Pro. Overall, the Watch GT 3 Porsche Design is the same internally as the Watch GT 3 Pro, which you can read about in our accompanying launch article. The Watch GT 3 Porsche Design retails for CNY 4,688 (~US$715) in China; an international release remains unknown at this stage.
