An update for the Huawei GT 2 Pro improves sleep tracking and adds self-diagnosis feature
Huawei has announced a firmware update for its GT 2 Pro, a high-end sport-focused smartwatch. The latest version includes a couple of new features and improvements to features such as sleep monitoring.
At the core of the update is a self-diagnosis feature, which enables the device to detect its own faulty hardware. Problems with the buttons, touch screen and microphones can all be recognized.
Once an issue is spotted, the watch will propose a solution to the wearer, such as resetting the device or sending it back to Huawei for repair. It is worth noting that this tool will only be available in China initially.
Another new feature is low heart rate detection, available to models with ECG capabilities. If the watch measures your heart rate at an irregularly low level, it will display a notification.
The announcement also mentioned that Huawei had optimized the sleep monitoring function and the overall system stability. The company provided no further details on these two improvements.
On the Huawei Community Forum, the company stated that update version 11.0.8.26 would be rolled out to customers in China in the next two weeks. It is anticipated that Huawei will share the update with the rest of the world afterwards.
