Honor released the Magic 8 series in October, consisting of the standard Magic 8 and the more premium Magic 8 Pro. However, leaks have been circulating about an upcoming compact flagship phone. Although the phone has no official name, it has been rumored to be called the Magic 8 Mini.
A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed key specifications based on a pre-production unit. The leak suggests it will be a compact phone featuring a notably thin profile of around 5–6 mm.
It is tipped to feature a 6.31-inch flat LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution. It may feature a 200MP primary camera, though the tipster suggests the company could opt for a 50MP 1/1.5" sensor instead. On a positive note, it is said to include a telephoto lens.
Consistent with previous leaks, the Honor Magic 8 Mini is expected to be powered by the Dimensity 9500 chipset. The thin body, however, may result in a battery of around 5,500mAh.
For comparison, the Vivo X300 also has a 6.3-inch screen and the Dimensity 9500 processor. However, the Vivo phone comes with a larger 6,040mAh battery but is thicker at 8 mm. Other high-end compact phones are expected to launch, including the Oppo Find X9s, iQoo 15 Mini, and OnePlus 15T. However, the Honor Magic 8 Mini may stand out with its thinner profile.
At the time of writing, there is no concrete release date for the Magic 8 Mini. In other news, the company is set to release the Honor 300 series on November 24 in China.
