HTC's VIVEPORT is already touted as the "leading gaming and app store" for extended reality (XR) content, which encompasses PC-linked VR (PC VR) titles compatible with headsets such as those of the Meta Quest line (via Quest Link) as well as those for the first-party VIVE XR Elite (via VIVE Streaming).
Accordingly, it stocks games ranging from the PC VR version of SUPERHOT to Fracked and The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, available "unlimited" (albeit for a monthly fee) via the VIVEPORT Infinity subscription. Now, HTC also backs it to be as good a deal for those who make the games as well.
The OEM has confirmed that it has settled on a new 90/10% revenue split in favor of developers at GDC 2024. Then again, the new remuneration model is only valid for PC VR/VIVE XR Elite games and apps that are sold as one-time downloads in the store, and not those streamed via VIVEPORT Infinity.
The new deal takes effect on April 1, 2024 for new titles; however, it will also be retroactively applied to sales of older titles from March 1 onward.
