HP launches sleek RTX 5060-equipped laptop with 128GB RAM support

HP has launched a relatively powerful laptop in China, the Zbook X 16 G2ig. It's being offered with the Intel Panther Lake processors, and the base configuration has the Core Ultra 5 336H, while the mid-range features the Core Ultra 7 356H.
As for the top-end option, it's powered by the Core Ultra 9 386H. None of these processors comes with the Intel Arc B390 iGPU, and the good part is that the HP laptop doesn't even need it. All the configurations are paired with the Nvidia RTX 5060 Laptop GPU.
On the front, the laptop has a 16-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels. HP claims that it has 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, and the 16:10 aspect ratio should offer a bit more screen real estate for professional works. There's no HDR support, but the IPS panel has a brightness rating of 400 nits.
While the laptop has a relatively thin design, it packs a relatively large 96Wh battery, which should offer good runtimes when the laptop is handling moderate loads. It also has fast charging support, with HP claiming that it can reach to 50% in just 30 minutes. There's a good port configuration as well, including:
- 2x Thunderbolt 4
- 1x HDMI 2.1
- 2x 5Gbps USB Type-A
- 1x Ethernet
There's a SIM slot, and for wireless connectivity, it features WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. Other highlights include MIL-STD-810H rating, a dual-fan cooling setup, and a 5MP AI-enhanced camera.
The business laptop is available with up to 32GB of RAM, but there's support for 128GB of DDR5 memory, which is a plus for those who might be interested in running local AI models on it.
As for the price, the base configuration with the Core Ultra 5 336H and 16GB of RAM costs CNY 12,999, about $1,920. The top-end option with the Core Ultra 9 386H and 32GB of RAM is retailing for CNY 18,999, about $2,806. HP didn't share anything on the global launch of the ZBook X 16 G2ig, but the company recently released the ZBook 8 G1i internationally. This one could also arrive in the global market soon.
