Lenovo releases new 16-inch ThinkPad internationally with 64 GB RAM and Intel Panther Lake processors

The ThinkPad L16 Gen 3 has finally received a wider international release with Intel processors. For reference, we put Lenovo's Gen 2 through its paces less than six months ago with AMD's Zen 4 platform. Nonetheless, these and their Arrow Lake counterparts (curr. $1,049 on Amazon) have now been replaced by AMD Zen 5 and Panther Lake-based successors.
Specifically, the Core Ultra 5 325 through Core Ultra 7 356H are currently available, with the Core Ultra 7 365 also mentioned on Lenovo's PSREF website. According to our benchmarks, about a 25% performance difference exists between these two processors, which narrows when comparing the Core Ultra 7 356H against other options like the Core Ultra 5 336H.
Setting processors aside, the ThinkPad L16 Gen 3 Intel can also be configured with 46.5 Wh or 57 Wh batteries and up to 64 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM split across dual SODIMM slots. Moreover, Lenovo offers up to 2 TB of PCIe Gen 5 storage in the laptop's sole M.2 2280 slot. Also, one can configure a backlit keyboard, an IR webcam, a fingerprint scanner and a Smart Card Reader. Unfortunately, only a 1200p IPS display is available with a 60 Hz refresh rate, 400 nits peak brightness and 45% NTSC colour space coverage.
The ThinkPad L16 Gen 3 with Intel processors starts at AUD 1,888, HKD 11,894, MYR 5,745, SGD 2,035 and €1,489 (~$1,704) in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and the Eurozone, respectively. However, prices quickly inflate when configuring a more powerful processor, more storage or the laptop's higher RAM configurations. Please see Lenovo's website for more details.
