The release of the Pixel 9 series is a way off yet. Regardless, Rozetked has already leaked camera details of three models, as well as display specifications. For context, while Google has created the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL, it is also rumoured to be bringing a Pixel Fold (curr. $899.98 - renewed on Amazon) to market as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
According to Rozetked, the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL will all feature ultra-wide-angle cameras with a 0.5x zoom level. Unsurprisingly, Google will describe the trio's primary cameras as providing 1x zoom. Moreover, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL will deliver 5x optical zoom through their telephoto cameras, which the Pixel 9 will lack.
Rozetked adds that all rear-facing cameras on the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL output at 50 MP, too. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether this applies to the presumably cheaper Pixel 9, though. Either way, this would suggest that Google had swapped out the 48 MP ultra-wide-angle and telephoto cameras from the Pixel 8 Pro. Incidentally, only Pro models will contain ultra-wideband (UWB) hardware, which is also the case for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
