The Google Pixel 10 may have received drastic camera downgrades compared to the Pixel 9, but has at least made up for it with a number of repair improvements. As the teardown video (embedded below) from iFixit shows, it is relatively easy to remove the back of the Pixel 10 to access the components inside.
While the back is glued to the casing as usual, the adhesive can be removed without heat or specialized tools. After loosening the adhesive, only one cable needs to be removed, and the back cover and Qi charging coil can be replaced. Equally pleasing is the fact that the battery is easier to replace than before. After removing a few screws and disconnecting two more cables, it can be pulled out of the casing using a large, green tab. The battery is glued in place, but the adhesive is weaker than on most smartphones.
The speaker, USB-C port and mmWave antenna can also be replaced individually. However, the three rear cameras are all part of a module, so the entire module may need to be replaced if one camera is defective. Replacing the display is, as always, difficult because the screen is attached to the frame with stubborn adhesive, so there is a risk of damaging it when removing it. iFixit gives the Google Pixel 10 a repair rating of 6 out of 10 possible points.
