On first glance, the new Gionee F3 Pro looks like an iPhone 14 Pro that has gotten even more premium with a glass rear camera hump extension that integrates a secondary display. However, on closer inspection, the rest of the smartphone's internals match its bargain price.

Gionee has combined a Mi 11 Ultra-style secondary display with iPhone Pro camera rings for the first time in the new F3 Pro. Then again, the rest of its internals belie the seemingly premium veneer of this rear panel-mounted window.

The OEM says it has an (unspecified) build of Android to run the F3 Pro's dual screens, although the rear-facing display seems only capable of showing data such as the time and notifications, with no mentions of selfie preview functions.

It may just be as well: Gionee may have included the distinctive fidget-spinner camera hump in the F3 Pro, but only 1 of its triple lenses houses an active 21MP sensor. The smartphone is a markedly slim take on the rest of the 14 Pro Max build; however, that is due to a comparatively meager 3,900mAh battery.

It powers a 6.5-inch main display with a bathtub notch rather than a Dynamic Island and a standard 60Hz refresh rate, driven by the Unisoc T610 SoC. The faux-premium Gionee F3 Pro does have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which may be 1 of the few reasons it is priced at 1,399 yuan (~US$203) on jd.com.
