Garmin Forerunner 265 latest update brings improvements and bug fixes to mid-range smartwatch
Garmin has shared another new update for the Forerunner 265. Unlike recent updates, Software Version 18.22 arrives on the company's stable distribution channel. As such, all Forerunner 265 units should receive Software Version 18.22 within the next few days.
For reference, Garmin claims that the new update should have already been offered to at least half of Forerunner 265 smartwatches. Please note that while updates can be typically triggered manually from within the smartwatch itself, Garmin states that Software Version 18.22 is only downloadable through Garmin Express or Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM). Thus, it seems as though this month's software update will only be delivered when Garmin deems it right to do so.
According to Garmin's changelog, Software Version 18.22 brings over ten bug fixes to the Forerunner 265. Specifically, the new software addresses backlight brightness level issues when using real time settings, plus touch screen settings when in sleep mode. Additionally, the smartwatch's backlight gesture should now work properly when the Forerunner 265 is in do not disturb mode. Moreover, Software Version 18.22 adds jump rope activity and male voice audio prompts, among other new features. Please see Garmin's forum post for more details.
