Galaxy S24 series predicted to return Samsung to glory days of Galaxy S10 as devices record highest-ever pre-order numbers

After the report of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series having an amazing pre-launch period in India, Samsung has announced that its flagship phones are off to a flying start in Korea as well. The news comes to us courtesy of the Korean publication ETnews.

ETnews reveals that the Galaxy S24 has had the highest number of pre-orders in the Galaxy S series’ entire history. The pre-orders stand at 1.21 million units, a figure that is 11% more than the 1.09 million of the Galaxy S23. Based on these pre-launch numbers, it is reasonable to assume that the Galaxy S24 series could be the best-performing Galaxy S generation in recent memory.

To that end, Counterpoint Research allegedly puts the possible Galaxy S24 sales at 36 million units for 2024. If true, this would be a 12.5% increase over Samsung’s purported internal goal of 32 million units. Provided the Galaxy S24 devices manage to surpass 30 million units, it would make the Galaxy S24 devices the best-selling phones since the Galaxy S10 of 2019 as no Galaxy S device has breached the 30 million mark since.

Launched in March 2019, the flagship Galaxy S10 series comprised of the compact Galaxy S10e, the regular Galaxy S10, the Galaxy S10+, and the Galaxy S10+ 5G. The smartphones presumably sold a combined 37 million units in the first six months of their launch.

Finally, while we have no idea as to how well the individual Galaxy S24 models are selling, ETnews’ report indicates that consumer interest is leaning towards the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the biggest and the most expensive member of the S24 trio that features a Titanium frame similar to iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
