GPD Win Mini to launch for US$699 as company reveals full specifications for new compact AMD Phoenix gaming handheld
GPD has finally revealed pricing and full technical specifications for the Win Mini, a gaming handheld that it started teasing almost five months ago. As we have discussed previously, GPD has equipped the Win Mini with the AMD Phoenix APUs, the de facto choice for modern gaming handhelds. According to the company, it complements the Ryzen 5 7640U and Ryzen 7 7840U with LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 6,400 MHz, as well as PCIe Gen 4 storage and a 44.24 Wh battery.
Additionally, the Win Mini has a 7-inch IPS display that operates at 1080p (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) with a 120 Hz peak refresh rate. Moreover, the gaming handheld has hall-effect joysticks, a single USB 4 port, a single USB 3.2 Type-C port and an Oculink (SFF-8612) connector for GPD's G1 eGPU. Somehow, GPD has crammed all this hardware into a 168 x 109 x 26 mm and 520 g case, too; please see the company's website for more technical specifications.
As always, GPD will begin by selling the Win Mini on Indiegogo. While it has not announced a campaign start date yet, its website lists the gaming handheld as launching in October. Still, GPD has confirmed that the Win Mini will start at US$699 with a Ryzen 5 7640U, 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM. By contrast, Ryzen 7 7840U SKUs will start at US$869, a price that also includes 32 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Full GPD Win Mini pricing is as follows:
