The first leaked images of the Lenovo Legion Go gaming handheld have turned up, and it is likely that many gamers will be attracted by the design that carries more than a whiff of Nintendo Switch inspiration to it. In fact, the Legion Go portable console might even fill the gap that was created when Switch Pro rumors led to nothing more than the Switch OLED model.

Lenovo is having another crack at the gaming handheld market with a device called the Legion Go. We already reported on leaked details and specifications of the handheld, and now windowsreport has provided numerous images of the Lenovo Legion Go, which may just scratch an itch for anyone waiting for Nintendo to finally produce a Switch successor. The most obvious reason for this is the fact that the Legion Go comes with detachable controllers.

As stated in the headline, the Lenovo Legion Go does have a look to it that could be described as a tactical Nintendo Switch, being all dressed in black, having some visible heft and substance to it, and with the controllers appearing like they would not look out of place in military kit. The Legion Go handheld, which apparently has an 8-inch display, is shown from all angles, revealing a kickstand and additional trigger buttons on the rear of the main unit.

The Lenovo Legion Go controllers have a lot more going on than typical Nintendo Switch joy-cons, with a wheel being visible on the back side of the right controller. According to the source, there is also a headphone jack and a microSD slot built into the Legion Go, while two USB-C ports, a power button, and a volume control can also be found on the gaming handheld. It is opined that the display will be of the touchscreen variety.

While no price is offered for the Lenovo Legion Go, it is likely going to be a pricy beast as it is reportedly powered by an AMD Phoenix 7040-series APU and will have to be stuffed to the gills with selling points to help it defeat the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally in an ever-growing and competitive gaming handheld market. The Legion Go appears, on the surface, to be a potentially strong entry for Lenovo, which should make Nintendo take notice as it continues development of the next-generation Switch.
