The Google Pixel 8 has dropped to its lowest price ever, yet again. If big phones aren’t for you and you don’t mind last-generation hardware, this is a great chance to score one of the best Google phones at a steep discount.
The Google Pixel 8 with 128GB storage is currently down to just $399 at Best Buy. That’s $300 cheaper than its usual $699 retail price and matches the all-time low price we saw during Black Friday. And here's the kicker: with the current discount, you're getting the Pixel 8 for $100 less than the mid-range Pixel 8a (currently available at $499).
Flagship experience at a mid-range price
Make no mistake. The Pixel 8 is a solid smartphone that can easily hold its own against Google’s latest and greatest. For $399, you’re getting the best bang for your money, including a 6.2-inch super bright FHD+ OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP + 12MP dual camera setup with Google’s critically acclaimed image processing, the Tensor G3 chipset, and a respectable 4,575 mAh battery with all-day endurance and fast wireless charging. And with seven years of promised software support, you can easily get three to four years out of this beast.
The Pixel 9 is a better device overall, offering a brighter display, a more capable Tensor G4 chipset, an upgraded 48MP ultra-wide camera, more RAM (12GB vs 8GB), a bunch of exclusive AI features, and improved battery backup. That said, the difference between the Pixel 8 and 9 isn't night and day. And for a $400 price difference, you might be willing to overlook what are, by and large, incremental improvements.
