SpaceX's portable satellite internet dish has received a major discount. The limited-time deal, currently live across several retailers, knocks $100 off the MSRP.

Don’t be fooled by the “Mini” moniker. The Starlink Mini dish is actually more expensive than the Standard dish in the US. But thanks to Best Buy’s ongoing sale, you can snag this ultraportable satellite dish at a great discount.

Best Buy has slashed the price of Starlink Mini kit by $100, bringing it down to just $499. Other major retailers are also offering similar discounts; Walmart is offering the dish for $495, while Target and Home Depot will sell you one for $499, while supplies last. That’s not the lowest price we’ve seen the Mini go for—it was down to $449 over Black Friday and Christmas sales—but it's still a solid deal, considering how rare discounts on Starlink kits are.

The main draw of the Starlink Mini is its ability to deliver high-speed internet on the go in areas not served by cellular networks. It’s the size of a typical laptop and can easily fit into your backpack. The Mini’s all-in-one design combines a Wi-Fi router and satellite dish into a single package, meaning you don't need to hook a separate router or create a complex setup. All you need is a clear view of the sky, a power bank, and a compatible USB cable and you can start streaming your favorite Netflix shows in the middle of nowhere. In terms of speeds, you can expect typical download speeds of 20Mbps to 100Mbps and up to 25Mbps in upload. Service plans start at $50 for the Mini Roam plan, which offers 50GB data, while the unlimited plan will set you back $150.
