SpaceX has slashed the price of the Starlink Standard Kit in the US, with the satellite dish currently massively discounted in select states where Starlink has excess network availability.
New customers in eligible US states can now pick up a Starlink Standard dish for as low as $149, a flat $200 discount on its regular $349 price. The discount is part of the company's "Regional Savings" program and is only valid for the Residential and Residential Lite service plans. If you buy directly from starlink.com, it will be automatically applied to the hardware price at checkout. Those purchasing the hardware from an authorized third-party retailer (such as Best Buy) are also eligible for the offer but will receive the discount as service credits to their Starlink account post activation.
The $200 discount is available in the following 27 US states until March 31
- Alaska
- Arizona
- California
- Colorado
- Hawaii
- Idaho
- Illinois
- Iowa
- Kansas
- Maine
- Massachusetts
- Minnesota
- Missouri
- Montana
- Nebraska
- Nevada
- New Hampshire
- New Mexico
- New York
- North Dakota
- Oklahoma
- Oregon
- South Dakota
- Texas
- Utah
- Vermont
- Wyoming
Going by Starlink’s map, it looks like some locations within these states may not be eligible for the offer due to network congestion. So, be sure to go to starlink.com and check if your service address qualifies.
Starlink also warns that if you move your address outside of these eligible areas, change your service plan, or cancel the service within the 30-day trial period without returning your Starlink dish, you’ll be charged a $300 fee.
To zoom out a bit, the Starlink Standard dish has seen quite a few price changes since its launch in January 2024 at $599. In June 2024, SpaceX dropped the price to $499 and introduced a new Regional Savings program, offering an additional $200 discount to new users. Later in July, the dish was made available for $199 in certain regions, with new users able to claim up to a $300 discount through the same program. Then, in October, SpaceX changed the nationwide price to $349 and killed the Regional Savings discount which had already been reduced to $100.
