We've already reported on the brand Fimi several times, and the Chinese company has recently launched the new X8 Pro 2025. This isn’t an entirely new drone, but rather an updated version. According to the manufacturer, this model supports wireless image transmission over a distance of up to 12.4 miles via Roklink 5.0.
Moreover, the DJI alternative comes with a wireless controller that doesn't have a built-in screen, so users will have to use their smartphone or small tablet for that. Depending on the battery configuration, the Fimi drone weighs 1.68 or 1.83 lbs, which significantly exceeds the 0.55 lbs (250 grams) legal limit that is relevant in some countries. That said, the X8 Pro has a flight time of 38 or 47 minutes, a top speed of up to 40 mph and can deal with winds of up to 27 mph.
Unfolded, the drone measures 8 x 4.2 x 2.9 inches without propellers, and it sports a 4K camera that is mounted on a gimbal. As usual, the gimbal helps with capturing smoother photos and videos and can also move the camera, which supports a video resolution of up to 3840 x 2160 pixels at 60 frames per second.
It further utilizes a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor with an F/1.7 aperture, while videos and photos are stored on a microSD card. GPS tracking allows the drone to return to its take off point autonomously, flight planning is supported as well. For example, users can program the Fimi drone to follow them while skiing or biking. Last but not least, the X8 Pro (2025) carries an official price tag of $449.
