SiFly: New professional drones with up to 90 miles of range and high payloads

SiFly has introduced two new drones. They are supposed to last particularly long and should be able to cover large distances. One of the new models might be useful for quickly delivering certain items.
SiFly is putting two new drones on the market. The term drone is used in a broader sense here, since these are rather drone platforms instead of ready-to-fly devices, which means that professional users can specify a certain payload based on their needs.
To be more exact, the payload can be very high depending on the configuration. For example, the Q250 is supposedly able to transport just under 200 lbs with a flight time of 100 minutes, which could make the drone suitable for delivering heavy items. SiFly also claims that it can be used as an alternative to a crop duster or for spraying pesticides. SiFly further illustrates its new drone as a firefighting system, which could act as a remote-controlled fire hose with water supply. The Q250 has a range of up to 85 miles, but this number won’t be achievable if the drone is carrying its maximum payload of 236 lbs.
The second drone that SiFly announced is called the Q12. This one is able to carry up to 10 lbs, and its modular payloads can be swapped out quickly. In contrast to the Q250, the Q12 is apparently intended for observation and could be used to assess the situation in case of a disaster. For instance, it can be used to inspect power lines or monitor the environment. The Q12 has a longer range of up to 90 miles and a flight time of up to 3 hours. Drones based on the new SiFly Q12 platform are scheduled to arrive at customers in the 4th quarter of 2025.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
