EcoFlow has unveiled its latest Wave 3 portable air conditioner and heater in global markets. The company’s new model comes as a direct successor to the Wave 2 and brings remarkable upgrades in terms of battery, functions, and cooling and heating capacity. To be more precise, the new model is more powerful and feature-packed than before.
The EcoFlow Wave 3, designed for outdoor enthusiasts, boasts a large 6,100 BTU (1,800 W) cooling capacity (up from 5,100 BTU (1,500 W) of the Wave 2), which is said to cool spaces ranging from 118 to 183 ft² (~11 to 17 m²) and can lower the temperature by up to 8 °C (15 °F). Plus, the portable air conditioner also doubles as a heater as well. EcoFlow’s new model sports a 6,800 BTU (2,000 W) heating capacity, up from 6,100 BTU (1,800 W) of the Wave 2.
According to EcoFlow, the heater is capable of raising the temperature by 9 °C (17 °F). The battery has seen a major upgrade. This time around, EcoFlow has ditched its NCM battery and opted for a 1,024 LiFePO4 (LFP) battery. The LFP battery can run for up to eight hours on a single charge in Eco mode, and a full charge takes around 75 minutes via a standard wall outlet. Additionally, you can also recharge the portable air conditioner via solar, car, or EcoFlow Alternator charger.
The LFP battery has an estimated lifespan of 4,000 cycles. EcoFlow has also added several other features to the Wave 3, including an automatic mode, which seamlessly switches between heating and cooling based on ambient temperature; a dehumidification mode; and a sleep mode, which reduces the machine’s running noise to 44 dB. Moreover, EcoFlow’s portable air conditioner and heater also have companion app support, allowing you to further tweak the gadgets’ settings. Dimensionally, it measures 519 x 297 x 336 mm (20.4 x 11.7 x 13.2 inches) and weighs around 34.4 lbs (15.6 kg).
