Dell delays the XPS 13 2-in-1 7390 again; no re-revised date in sight

Perhaps the writing was on the wall with this one. We previously reported that Dell had inexplicably delayed the release of the next XPS 13 2-in-1, with the date being pushed to August 2. However, Frank Azor, the ex-Vice President and General Manager of Alienware and XPS seemed less sure of that date shortly before his departure from the company, tweeting that the beginning of August was the target for its revised release.

August 2 passed without official word from Dell, which prompted people online to question the whereabouts of the new XPS 13 2-in-1. The company has since responded with "in a few weeks", a vague statement that reads more like another platitude than anything substantial.

A recent Dell Japan Facebook post confirms this inability to give a new fixed release date, with the company stating that the XPS 13 2-in-1 will be available to order online from mid-August. The same post promotes that Dell is running a giveaway between August 2 and August 31, with the winner receiving their prize in late November. We doubt that Dell will take that long to ship the new XPS 13 2-in-1, but it is conceivable that it will take up to 10 days to do so, as it did with the XPS 15 7590 releasehttps://notebook-check.com/?id=426509. Hence, even people in the US could be waiting until the end of August to receive their orders, with other markets typically trailing by at least a few weeks.

However, this is only based on the unspecified timings of "in a few weeks" and "mid-August", which could no doubt change again. In short, Dell still cannot give a firm date when it places to release the XPS 13 2-in-1 7390.
