The Asus price cut may be small, but it definitely puts the competing XPS 13 in an awkward position. Users who want the most bang for the buck without sacrificing weight or design can consider the ZenBook 13 UX333FA at its new price of $900.

Out of all the major PC brands at Computex this year, Asus had the most to reveal. The Taiwanese OEM announced new models across its entire lineup ranging from the cheap VivoBook S14 all the way up to a patent pending liquid metal thermal paste application process for its ROG G703. Now that Computex is behind us, Asus is ready to cut prices on some older systems to make room for the newer models.

From now until July 9, the Asus ZenBook 13 UX333FA will be $100 off on Amazon for a final retail price of $900 USD. Users may need to apply the code '100ONZENBOOK' at checkout to receive the discount. When considering that the SKU includes a Whiskey Lake-U Core i7 CPU with 16 GB of RAM in a flagship narrow bezel design, the new price is not a bad deal. Configuring the Dell XPS 13 9370 for the same price would yield only a Core i5 CPU with just 4 GB of RAM for worse multi-tasking performance.

The biggest limitation to keep in mind is that the ZenBook 13 UX333FA offers no Thunderbolt 3 or touchscreen options. It does, however, offer a full-size USB Type-A port not found on the XPS 13 9370.

The ZenBook 13 UX333 is set to be replaced by the ZenBook 13 UX334 launching in late July. See our full review on the UX333FA for our take on the system.

Fremont, California (June 10, 2019) — ASUS today announced an Amazon-exclusive deal on the ZenBook 13 (UX333FA-AB77). This thin and light laptop introduced the stunning new frameless NanoEdge display, which features ultraslim bezels on all four sides and an incredible up to 95% screen-to-body ratio for a near-borderless viewing experience. The NanoEdge display also allows for a much more compact design, giving the ZenBook 13 one the smallest footprints in its class. The ZenBook 13 (UX333FA-AB77) is available for $100 off from June 10th to July 9th, exclusively at Amazon, using the code 100ONZENBOOK.

This ZenBook also includes the new NumberPad, an innovative productivity enhancement that provides a full-size LED-illuminated numeric keypad built into the touchpad. In addition, a special 3D IR camera allows fast face login using Windows Hello, even in low-light environments.

The combination of performance and mobility is a defining feature of the ZenBook series, and the ZenBook UX333FA-AB77 features a full complement of high-performance components including 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 quad-core CPU, Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU, and 16GB RAM plus ultrafast PCIe® SSDs and gigabit-class Wi-Fi.

Ultraportable, redefined

The ZenBook series ushers in a fresh era of ultracompact, ultralight laptops that boast the smallest footprints in their class1, a feat made possible by the new frameless NanoEdge design. The stunning frameless NanoEdge displays now feature ultraslim bezels on all four sides, creating an unrivaled up to 95% screen-to-body ratio that maximizes the screen area in the minimum physical space2.

The result is simply breathtaking: the near-borderless visuals deliver a more immersive viewing experience with less visual distraction, making ZenBook the perfect choice for on-the-go creativity or entertainment.

Complementing the groundbreaking new design, the traditional ZenBook style and elegance is apparent at a glance. The iconic Zen-inspired spun-metal finish is featured on the lid in a Royal Blue finish; newly enhanced with a contrasting Rose Gold trim bar above the keyboard for an extra touch of luxury.

No-compromise productivity

For the ultimate on-the-go productivity, the ZenBook 13 is equipped with the exclusive new ASUS NumberPad. NumberPad solves the age-old problem of the lack of a dedicated numeric keypad on compact laptops. Tapping the NumberPad icon at the top right corner of the touchpad reveals a full-size LED-illuminated numeric keypad, allowing rapid and intuitive data entry or calculations.

All models feature an advanced 3D infrared (IR) camera, with see-in-the-dark capabilities to ensure fast, reliable hands-free face login with Windows Hello — even in dimly-lit environments. Unlike some designs with awkwardly placed cameras, the ZenBook’s camera is located on the slim top bezel of the NanoEdge display — yet another thoughtful design detail.

Advanced voice-recognition capabilities on the new ZenBook series means users can be entertained, informed, and organized simply by speaking to Alexa or Cortana. Alexa is a cloud-based voice service that helps users with tasks, entertainment, general information, and more. Using Alexa is as simple as asking a question. Just ask to play music, read the news, control a smart home, tell a joke, and more — Alexa will respond instantly.

When working on the go, it’s vital to be able to connect with anything and everything. The new ZenBook features a USB Type-C™ (USB-C™) port for any-way-up connections and superfast USB 3.1 Gen 2 (up to 10Gbps3) data transfers, and there's also a range of other USB ports, including USB Type-A (up to 5Gbps or 10Gbps) and/or USB 2.04. The ZenBook also includes an HDMI port and a microSD and SD card reader, so it’s easy to connect to all your current and future peripherals.

With any ZenBook, comfort is one of the top design priorities. The ZenBook 13 goes the extra mile with the exclusive ErgoLift hinge, an engineering masterpiece designed to automatically tilt the keyboard to the most comfortable typing position. But that’s not all: the carefully calculated tilt improves cooling and audio performance, too.

Unbounded performance

The ZenBook 13 is built to deliver unbounded on-the-go performance, featuring 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor and a range of fast graphics options, including a Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU. Further, the ZenBook 13 is equipped with PCIe® SSDs and up to 16GB of RAM, making it ideal for creating complex documents, mining data, retouching photos, editing videos, or simply taking a gaming break. The ZenBook series lets users do more, and do it quicker.

Mobile professionals need to stay connected — at the fastest speed possible. The ZenBook 13 features gigabit-class Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® 5.0 lets users access all the benefits of the latest low-power peripherals and accessories.

Designed for non-stop, on-the-go lifestyles, the ZenBook series gives users the freedom to work all day on a single battery charge — up to an impressive 13 hours5.

Ultratough: Military-grade durability

The ZenBook 13 meets the ultra-demanding MIL-STD-810G military standard for reliability and durability, undergoing a punishing test regime that includes extended tests for operation in harsh environments including extreme altitudes, temperatures and humidity. The ZenBook 13 also passed ASUS internal laptop tests that exceed the standards set by the industry. ZenBook is the ultratough ultraportable, the perfect choice for discerning on-the-go professionals.

AVAILABILITY AND PRICING

The ZenBook 13 (UX333FA-AB77) is now available at a starting MSRP of $999.99 but is available for $100 off, exclusively at Amazon, from June 10 to July 9, 2019; using the code: 100ONZENBOOK.

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
