Dell XPS 15 9570's DPC latency issue should be fixed soon
The Dell XPS 15 9570 has been around long enough for some minor issues to surface on Reddit and on various forums, but Dell is usually quite fast in handling such problems, especially when they are being forwarded via Twitter to Alienware's co-founder and VP General Manager, Frank Azor.
One such issue involves a rather high DPC latency which causes this machine to be useless for those who acquired it — or have plans to get one — for music production. A Twitter user who recently ordered the Dell XPS 15 9570 shared his concerns with Frank Azor, saying that he is thinking about canceling the order because Dell is apparently ignoring this issue (it has been reported on Reddit a few months ago, as you can see here). As usual, Frank Azor's concise reply came quickly: "We are aware and actively working to fix this."
Unfortunately, the answer mentioned above also lacks a date, but it would not be the first time when Frank Azor omits such details. However, since this is an issue that will most likely be handled via a software update, the patch will probably arrive by the end of the month, if not sooner.
Those interested in buying the Dell XPS 15 9570 in the US directly from Dell can currently enjoy a small discount. The Intel Core i5-8300H model now has a price tag of US$979.99 (down from US$999.99) and the high-end model with an Intel Core i9-8950HK under the hood can be acquired for US$2,841.99.
