DLSS 4.5 slams AMD FSR: Nvidia's DLSS wins by a huge margin in massive blind test with over 6,700 gamers

In a massive blind test conducted by a popular publication, it was found that gamers prefer Nvidia's DLSS 4.5 over AMD's FSR 4 and native rendering. In fact, nearly half of the respondents picked DLSS 4.5, while less than 15% chose FSR.

In a community blind test conducted by the well-known German publication ComputerBase, DLSS 4.5 was pitted against AMD's FSR 4 and native rendering. Over 6,500 gamers participated in the test, and the results are pretty clear - DLSS 4.5 wins the upscaling taste test by a solid margin.

DLSS 4.5 gets over three times as many votes as FSR 4

A whole bunch of games were included in the test, including but not limited to Anno 117, ARC Raider, Cyberpunk 2077, and Last of Us Part II. Ultimately, a total of 1,619 or 24% of the participants preferred native quality, around 1,013 or 15% preferred AMD's FSR 4, while the vast, vast majority preferred Nvidia's DLSS 4.5, at around 3,249 or 48.2% of the participants.

Only around 866 or 12.8% of the gamers stated that the three were nearly equivalent. For those interested, the test was conducted with the "Quality" preset, with resolution set to 4K.

The results of the blind test are quite promising for the green camp.

DLSS 4.5 may not be as big of a jump from DLSS 4.0 as DLSS 4.0 was from DLSS 3.0, but the improvements are as clear as a sunny day. Nvidia's second-generation transformer model is clearly showing its might in real-world testing, such as the extensive one conducted by us.

Of course, ComputerBase's test hardly slams AMD's FSR, since the results only portray the preferred choice made by the gamers - not the second and third runner-ups.

In other words, as mentioned by ComputerBase itself, stating that "FSR is worse than native" based on the survey conducted would be plain untrue. But yes, there is no denying that DLSS 4.5 does appear to have the upper hand.
