Tesla's first electric pickup truck can now be had for half of its original Foundation Cyberbeast launch price. With the new Cybertruck AWD trim specs, Tesla has learned its lesson from the unpopular RWD edition that was swiftly discontinued.

When Tesla launched the Foundation Series Cyberbeast in late 2023, it charged $120,000 for it, and there was an order waiting list worth billions in orders.

Fast forward to today, and Tesla is selling the Cybertruck at half the original launch price with a new AWD trim that doesn't sacrifice as much as the RWD version released last year that was subsequently discontinued after just five months on the market.

The 2025 RWD Cybertruck was not only more expensive than the 2026 AWD version but also lacked more features than the latest Tesla attempt to spruce up its moribund Cybertruck sales count.

2026 Dual Motor Cybertruck AWD price and range

  • $59,990
  • 325 miles

The new AWD Cybertruck trim is $20,000 cheaper than the Premium AWD version now, making it the cheapest Cybertruck Tesla has ever launched. The RWD Cybertruck was priced at $69,990, for instance, and only the now-defunct federal tax credit brought it down to $62,490, still more expensive than the 2026 AWD version.

Needless to say, the new trim lacks most of what the RWD model did, namely air suspension, leather seats, or 20-inch wheels, but this time around it does include the motorized tonneau over the truck's bed. It also comes with the same 123 kWh battery pack, giving it the same 325-mile range, as well as the fastest charging powertrain on a Tesla thanks to the 800V architecture.

2026 Cybertruck AWD specs

  • 7,500 lb towing capacity
  • 2,006 lbs payload
  • Composite bed that doesn't need a liner
  • L-track cargo rails
  • Automatic tonneau cover
  • Coil springs with adaptive damping instead of air suspension
  • 18" wheels
  • Heated textile front seats
  • 7-speaker sound system

Just like last year, the 9.4" rear display and rear light bar are gone, as are the 120V cabin outlets and the Vault bed storage. Tesla did keep the 120V bed outlets, as well as all the other exclusive Cybertruck bells and whistles, such as rear-wheel steering, a motorized tonneau cover, fast charging, and Powershare abilities.

It remains to be seen if the cheapest-ever Cybertruck will gain more traction than Tesla's previous attempts to shake up its electric pickup line, whose sales are now a footnote in the "Other" category of its financial statements.
