Pearl Abyss is hard at work addressing issues and improving player experience. They have now shared insight on what’s coming between now and June and some of the content may help ease the complaints of those who have finished the game.

Launched in the third week of March, Crimson Desert has seen great success with over four million copies sold and thousands of hours invested. There are quite a few gamers who have completed the game but very few who have achieved ‘Platinum’. However, one common complaint from those players has been the lack of content post completion. With the upcoming update, Pearl Abyss hopes to address that pain point.

Through a detailed post on the website, the studio has shared what’s on the cards for Crimson Desert between now and June. These updates are based on player feedback, which the team has been pretty good about, and are currently in development. Starting with the major complaint that players have had after finishing the game, Crimson Desert will get boss rematches, re-blockading, and difficulty settings.

As the names suggest, players will be able to fight bosses they have already defeated to not only refine their combat style and strategies, but also provide some interesting content for post story completion. With re-blockading, enemies will try to reclaim liberated locations giving players another chance to take back said locations, with an opportunity to use different strategies than the first time.

It should be noted that Pearl Abyss has not confirmed if re-blockading will continue even after the campaign has been completed, but it makes sense to allow boss rematches indefinitely. How they incorporate that in the game, remains to be seen.

The difficulty setting will allow players to choose between easy, normal, and hard modes making things more or less challenging. Those who have completed the story could do a second run with a more challenging difficulty level.

More QOL updates

Furthermore, there will be several other updates and improvements to the gameplay as detailed in the post. Damiane and Oongka will get skills and abilities comparable to Kliff’s “Force Palm” and “Axiom Force”. New outfits will be added, even more summonable mounts and pets, as well as quality of life improvements with storage.

Crimson Desert already looks massive and detailed once you climb a tall tower or reach a mountain peak, but Pearl Abyss are working to make distant backgrounds look more real, but till will come in the form of a large size patch. As of now, the team has not shared a date for the next update but seeing as how quickly they have been released in the past three weeks, new features should start showing up soon.
