Crimson Desert Switch 2 port gets official release window

It is well known at this point that Pearl Abyss is working on bringing Crimson Desert to the Nintendo Switch 2. It has been making progress on the build, which is playable on the handheld and is being optimized to meet the studio’s standards. Now, the studio has shared a release window for the port.
As part of the “2Q26 Pearl Abyss Earnings Letter” for Q2 2026, the studio shared that Crimson Desert has “reached a playable baseline” and that performance optimization is underway. They went on to state that the first half of next year is being targeted for release. That means by next June, we will have a Switch 2 version of Crimson Desert. But testing and betas should start earlier.
This is the first time Pearl Abyss has put a timeline on the Switch 2 release. They were always looking to bring Crimson Desert to as many platforms as possible. However, it is unclear what kind of compromises will come with the Switch 2 port.
The report also mentions multiplayer and live service operation models, both of which have great potential given the scope of Crimson Desert. However, the devs maintained that it is not as easy as just adding a new mode, and that it requires “comprehensive evaluation of server architecture, game balance, cross-platform stability, and live service operation models.” Multiplayer for Crimson Desert does not have a timeline yet.
