First Crimson Desert DLC announced, ‘Charting the Unknown’ brings ships, relationships, underwater exploration, and more

Almost six months after its release, Pearl Abyss has announced the first DLC for Crimson Desert. The announcement came during the State of Play livestream with a trailer showing off new content coming with ‘Charting the Unknown.’ The studio had mentioned plans for DLC back in May but, at the time, did not share a timeline.

The almost two-minute clip shows new regions to explore, underwater adventures, upgraded housing mode, naval exploration, new enemies, and more. In Charting the Unknown, players will be able to take command of their ship and explore the new islands, as well as deep-dive to find treasures, ruins, and other mysteries.

It also shows Kliff getting into a relationship, which will be a new mechanic to the game. The extent of this mechanic is unclear as Pearl Abyss simply states, “talk with the people of Pywel to forge deeper bonds.”

Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown is available for pre-order across all platforms. At the time of publishing, the storefronts haven’t been updated. Pricing hasn’t been revealed just yet either. It will be playable starting October 15, with some regions getting access to it on October 16. Those who pre-order will get the Charter’s Diving Set for Kilff and Oongka, as well as the Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane.
