Now rolling out: New Crimson Desert update adds much-requested feature

Crimson Desert launched in March 2026 to much hype. To a large extent, the hype was justified as the game delivered a breathtaking open world with tons of quests to complete, bosses to fight, and areas to explore. As a result, it reportedly takes up to 80 hours to complete the main story of Crimson Desert and more than 200 hours for a completionist run. For a game this huge, it makes sense to have a cross-save feature by which players can play the game on different platforms without losing their progress.
Pearl Abyss, the developers behind Crimson Desert, has now delivered just that. The latest Crimson Desert patch 1.14.00 has now rolled out to all platforms, including Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox. Curiously, while the latest Crimson Desert update is available on Steam for macOS, it will roll out at a later date to the Apple App Store for Macs.
When it comes to the content of patch 1.14.00, Pearl Abyss only added the cross-save feature and “various bug fixes and stability improvements”. So, gamers who were hoping for things like more character customizations, like different hairstyles, and more game content will have to wait some more.
That said, Pearl Abyss has previously confirmed that a big, paid DLC is in the making. This also means that, aside from new story, quests, and gameplay content, players can also look forward to other requested features. Sadly, we have no confirmed release date or even a rough launch timeline for the upcoming Crimson Desert DLC. This often means that there is still a lot of work left and we likely won’t see the DLC update anytime soon.
