OPPO has set the stage for the launch of the next major software upgrade for its Android smartphones during its Developers Conference of 2023. The event will also introduce the OEM's connected smart device ecosystem, not to mention its own generative AI model and latest development in health technology.

OPPO has announced that its Developers Conference 2023 (or ODC 23) keynote speech will be the warm-up act for the formal release of ColorOS 14, its first smartphone UI based on Android 14. The new upgrade is said to integrate a variation on Apple's Dynamic Island, among other system-based and cosmetic upgrades.

Developers who attend the event may also get some hands-on time with Pantanal and some of the components rated to make it the go-to platform to connect and integrate all kinds of devices OPPO ostensibly hopes for. The OEM's ambitions for this new service reportedly include an answer to the NIO Link, except possibly brand-agnostic.

AndesGPT might prove another highlight of ODC 23, and might function on-device as well as on the cloud. OPPO will also unveil its own Health Research Platform during the Conference, which might be accompanied on stage by the launch of the OEM's most advanced sleep- and activity-tracking technology yet.

The ODC is scheduled to kick off in Shanghai's Expo Center on November 16, 2023.
