Casio’s new G SHOCK Mudman: Tough Solar power, stainless steel bezel, and Triple Sensor tech
Casio’s latest collaboration with Earthwatch Japan introduces the G SHOCK Mudman GW-9501KJ-8JR, inspired by the Blakiston's fish owl, one of the world's largest and rarest owls. This watch will be a part of Casio's ongoing Love The Sea And The Earth 2024 initiative, which is intended to support environmental conservation efforts.
The Mudman GW-9501KJ-8JR features an earthy design with muted tones, including a black and brown resin strap and a gold stainless steel front bezel. The watch’s rugged aesthetic seems to be a reflection of its robust functionality. The bezel, button accents, and pushers have shades of rose gold and black, adding a subtle yet distinct contrast to the earthy palette. When activated, the LED backlight reveals the Earthwatch logo.
The GW-9501KJ-8JR boasts key G SHOCK technologies such as Tough Solar power and Multi-Band 6 automatic radio adjustment. Additionally, it includes Triple Sensor functionality (altimeter, barometer, compass, and thermometer), Carbon Core Guard, and a duplex LCD display with compass pointers.
Set for a November 2024 release — similar to the recently unveiled G SHOCK GA-B2100CD watches — the GW-9501KJ-8JR will be available in Japan for ¥64,900 (~$435). It will be offered as a limited edition wearable, and is likely to be exclusive to the Japanese market.
