Casio G SHOCK x Hello Kitty: First-ever collab between the two iconic brands for their 50th anniversaries
To celebrate the 50th anniversaries of both Casio’s G-Shock and Hello Kitty, the two brands have collaborated to release a special limited-edition watch, the G-Shock DW-5600KT24-1JR. This marks G-SHOCK's first ever collaboration with Hello Kitty - both brands having their roots in the year 1974 (although Hello Kitty's first product was a clear vinyl coin purse that was sold in Japan in March 1975).
The watch features distinct Hello Kitty elements, including the character’s iconic bow that lights up with the backlight. The case back is engraved with special logos commemorating both brands’ 50th anniversaries. The 'Hello Kitty' text is showcased in bold, right above the digital display. You can't miss it.
Since this watch is ultimately a part of the classic DW-5600 series (like the recently unveiled Nissan GT-R collab), this model maintains G-Shock’s renowned toughness, with water resistance up to 20 ATM and a shock-resistant structure. Additional features include multi-alarms, a 24-hour timer, and a full auto-calendar.
Slated for an October 2024 release in Japan, the watch is priced at ¥18,700 (approximately $126), and while a global release has not yet been confirmed, previous Hello Kitty collaborations with other brands have seen international availability. The watch is listed on the Casio Japan webpage, though you can't buy it yet.
