Blue Reflection Quartet unites the full magical girl RPG saga

Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Gust have officially released Blue Reflection Quartet worldwide on July 30, 2026. Available digitally across PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, the compilation brings together the entire modern Magical Girl RPG franchise into a single package.

Rather than a simple remaster bundle, Blue Reflection Quartet consolidates two mainline console titles, a from-scratch console rebuild of the series' mobile entry, and a new playable adaptation drawn from the anime.

What's included in the Blue Reflection Quartet package

The compilation features four core pieces of content, giving fans and newcomers access to the full series timeline:

• Blue Reflection & Blue Reflection: Second Light: Full versions of the original 2017 turn-based JRPG and its 2021 console sequel, both updated with higher-resolution textures, adjustable battle and movement speed, event skipping, and autosave.
• Blue Reflection: SUN (console rework): A from-scratch console rebuild of the previously smartphone-and-PC live-service title, which ran in Japan from February 2023 until its shutdown in May 2024. The offline version removes its original microtransaction elements and rebuilds its battles using Second Light's combat system, letting players walk through the school setting in 3D for the first time.
• Blue Reflection: RAY Story Scenario: A new interactive adaptation centered on the final arc of the 24-episode Blue Reflection: RAY anime, following Hiori and Ruka, with a new prologue and epilogue added to tie it into the rest of the series.
• Archive & Gallery Mode: A reference database with chronological event flowcharts, character relationship charts, series correlation charts, and an art gallery featuring illustrations by Mel Kishida.

Platform performance and Switch 2 version

Performance varies by platform. Koei Tecmo's own specifications list a resolution and frame rate ceiling of 4K/60fps on PS5, versus 1080p/30fps on Switch 2. RPG Site's hands-on testing confirmed the PS5 version holds a steady 60fps in practice, while both Switch and Switch 2 are capped at 30fps, matching or falling behind the original releases: even the first Blue Reflection game, which ran uncapped on PS4, is limited to 30fps on Switch 2. Steam remains the only version able to exceed 60fps. Switch 2 does carry texture and filtering upgrades over the Switch 1 version, but no framerate advantage from the newer hardware.

Players should be aware that the Switch and Switch 2 versions are sold as separate products, with no save transfer or upgrade path between them.
