Cygames' Endless Ragnarok expansion delivers a full-scale upgrade to Granblue Fantasy: Relink, with new bosses, a roguelite mode, and deeper progression.

More than two years after the original action RPG won over fans with its fluid combat and vivid worldbuilding, Cygames has delivered a massive continuation with Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok. It's available as a $29.99 upgrade kit on PC and PlayStation, while Nintendo Switch 2 owners get the base game and expansion bundled into a single release. Rather than leaning on piecemeal microtransactions, Cygames has opted for a traditional, content-heavy expansion model.

Story and new threats

Set in the aftermath of Astral Lilith's defeat, the narrative pulls the crew back into the Zegagrande Skydom to face an apocalyptic threat known as the Ragnalia, alongside a punishing new endgame boss in Beelzebub.

Combat expansion

To tackle the new high-difficulty co-op quests, Endless Ragnarok expands the core combat system with mid-battle Summons and devastating Primal Bursts, mechanics built around Lyria that let players call in temporary allies during fights. Meanwhile, Master Traits introduce specialized progression trees, letting players push favorite characters past the limits of standard sigil builds.

The Conflux roguelite mode

The centerpiece of the expansion is The Conflux, a solo roguelite mode accessed through portals found around Seedhollow and Folca. Players fight through escalating waves of randomized encounters, picking up stacking power-ups called Auras to build increasingly over-the-top skill synergies on individual runs. The mode also solves a real problem: action JRPGs tend to go stale once the story ends. The Conflux gives solo players a reason to keep coming back, and the difficulty holds up even as Auras stack. Late-stage bosses still punish sloppy dodges no matter how much damage your build is pumping out.

Crossplay

The expansion also adds full crossplay across console and PC, so the matchmaking pool stays healthy for new and returning players alike. Between the raid content, the new progression systems, and The Conflux, Endless Ragnarok is a rare case of a post-launch expansion that adds real substance instead of just padding playtime.

I related gaming news, Sony and Santa Monica Studio confirmed at SDCC 2026 that God of War Laufey launches February 16, 2027, on PS5, with a Kratos-led sequel already in the works.
