Honor of Kings August 2026 update: $3M World Cup and DAN DA DAN event

August is shaping up to be a massive month for Honor of Kings. TiMi Studio Group and Level Infinite are pushing hard on both the competitive and casual fronts, kicking off an international esports tournament in Europe while dropping a major anime collaboration in-game.
The $3 Million Honor of Kings World Cup takes Paris
The main competitive stage has moved to the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles for the Honor of Kings World Cup 2026. Running from August 4 to August 8, the S-Tier tournament features 20 international rosters competing for a massive $3,025,000 USD prize pool.
What makes this year stand out is the global hero pool. International teams are forced to adapt their draft strategies on the fly, making for unpredictable hero picks. Following intense group stage action, powerhouse squads are currently fighting through the championship bracket to claim the mid-season title.
Supernatural style: The DAN DA DAN collaboration
For casual players, an official collaboration with the hit anime series DAN DA DAN went live on August 3 and runs through August 31, bringing ghosts, aliens, and supernatural themes directly to the battlefield.
Players can roll for Lam (Okarun) and Mozi (Jiji) skins via the gacha Wish Event, while Daji (Momo) can be claimed for free by completing daily event tasks to earn tokens. The update also packages custom Turbo Granny minion reskins, Flowborn headgear, and collectible stickers.
Mid-season hero balance & adjustments
Beyond the headlines, the latest mid-season update delivers practical balance updates to ranked matchmaking. Ao'yin gets a much-needed mechanical tweak—his skill casting speeds now scale directly with attack speed.
Zilong picks up enhanced ultimate range alongside an extra Induction Mark, giving him far better initiation power. Meanwhile, minor stat adjustments for Arthur and Yang Jian aim to smooth out high-tier Clash Lane matchups.
