Palworld studio Pocketpair Publishing is co-publishing Karrot Games' incremental city-builder Clicky Islands, leading its rollout across Asia ahead of a 2026 Steam release.

Palworld developer Pocketpair has expanded its publishing arm, confirming it will co-publish the upcoming incremental city-builder Clicky Islands alongside two-person Polish studio Karrot Games. Pocketpair Publishing will work with Karrot on marketing, quality assurance, and localization, while taking the lead on bringing the game to players across Asia, a region Karrot has said it would otherwise struggle to reach on its own.

John Buckley, Pocketpair's head of communications and publishing, described Clicky Islands as a mix of clicker, incremental, automation, and town-building elements, calling the result addictive. The deal adds to a publishing slate that has grown steadily since Pocketpair began backing outside indie projects alongside its own development work on Palworld and marks another example of a larger studio using its resources to support a small independent team.

Combining clickers and town automation

Clicky Islands casts players as a governor appointed by the king to develop a procedurally generated island into a thriving settlement. The core loop blends active clicker mechanics with automated resource chains. Players start out gathering basic resources by hand, then recruit units and construct specialized buildings that gradually take over production, shifting the game from manual clicking toward hands-off kingdom management as the settlement expands.

Meta-progression and Steam demo update

Progress carries between runs through a permanent meta-progression skill tree, fed by reputation earned during play and expanded with new perks such as boosted resource income and treasure marks. That system pairs with an artifact system built around fossils uncovered in island ruins, with artifacts now grouped by rarity for easier browsing.

Karrot Games recently pushed an updated demo to Steam, adding Japanese, simplified Chinese, and traditional Chinese localization; reworked building and road placement; and a new island comfort system. That system tracks an island's average comfort level and grants passive bonuses to worker units, with higher comfort translating into better rewards. The update also introduced a blessings system, letting players pick from randomly drawn boosts for their island or their units.

Clicky Islands is set for a full release on PC via Steam sometime in 2026, following a free demo that has earned a Very Positive user rating on the platform. A specific release date and price have not yet been announced.
