New Lenovo Legion gaming handheld promises up to 9 hours of battery life

Lenovo is set to launch a new gaming handheld in China, the Legion C700. This won't be the same as the models in the Legion Go series, as it's primarily a "cloud handheld," meant to stream games rather than run them natively.

However, spec-wise, the Legion C700 could go against the performance-focused Android gaming handhelds that are on the market. Lenovo didn't share the complete specs yet, but so far, it has confirmed that the handheld will sport a 7.82-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, TMR joysticks, and a thin and lightweight design.

The SoC powering the device is unknown, but the latest teasers suggest that there will be an active cooling setup. That means the processor inside could be capable, and if that stands true, it could very well run PC games natively through emulators like GameHub and GameNative.

With the latest round of teasers, Lenovo has also confirmed that an 8,000mAh battery will power the internals of this "cloud" gaming handheld. The company claims that the runtime can reach up to 9 hours after a full charge, and this claimed battery life is likely considering game streaming only.

Even so, with an 8,000mAh battery, the Legion C700 resides in the same category as AYN Odin 3 and Konkr Pocket Fit 8 Elite, two high-end Android gaming handhelds. For reference, the latter two can last 1 to 3 hours while running or emulating games (Iniu Mini 10K 45W power bank curr. $29.69 on Amazon). More official details about the Lenovo handheld are expected to emerge in the coming days.
