Apple has typically offered a three-month free trial for new users considering an account with its first-party Music service. However, this offer has been cut in more than half in a long list of countries where the Cupertino giant operates. The normal price thereafter remains unchanged, however.

Apple Music is one of the most popular and readily-identifiable services to stream audio content out there. It offers access to up to 75 million tracks, offers exclusive playlists and the option of 3D and lossless audio with certain devices. However, new user now have less time to decide whether it is really for them or not.

Apple has historically offered 3 months' worth of access to Music prior to signing up for a paid account. Now, however, this free trial is suddenly down to just 1 month. This has been found to be the case in markets such as the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Australia and Japan, as well as European markets such as Germany, Austria and the Republic of Ireland.

This stealthy reduction might be a sign that even leading tech corporations such as Apple are feeling the pinch in terms of the cost of providing its services. Then again, a 'full' 6-month free trial is still available with the purchase of new devices such as AirPods, Beats products and HomePods; therefore, it may simply be that the company would simply prefer to drive consumers to first-party hardware to go with their software.
