Apple is once again the most valuable brand on Earth in 2022
2022 is not even into its second month yet; nevertheless, the market research group Brand Finance has released its "Global 500" report for this year already, which ranks brands operating worldwide based on how worthwhile they are in this firm's estimation.
Accordingly, Apple has retained its #1 spot from last year, having accrued the greatest Brand Finance valuation ever, at US$355.1 billion. This figure is based on its market value, (which hit $3 trillion at one point in recent history) not to mention its household-name status, ability to retain customer loyalty and making sure to emphasise its services as much as hardware such as the latest M1 MacBook Pros and iPhones 13.
On that note, Brand Finance has included 49 additional big-tech companies (with a combined value exceeding $1 trillion) in its new list. It sees companies such as Google, Amazon and Microsoft holding their top-5 positions for another year. In fact, only 2 firms (Walmart and ICBC) in this new top 10 are not typically associated with tech or communications in some way.
On that note, Huawei has bounced back into the top 10, having languished in 15th place during 2021. TSMC has also made it into the top 100, at #93 compared to #148 in 2021 with a ~US$20.5 billion valuation. NVIDIA climbed to #122 from #231 in 2021 with a value that has grown 100% YoY to ~US$16 billion, while that of AMD (#374) is now ~US$6.0 billion (or +122% YoY.
