Tim Cook is headed to India to open two new retail stores in the country. The new locations are found in 2 different cities, and will start to welcome customers from April 18, 2023. Apple touts them as sources of "excellent" customer service and experience in advance, and indicates that they underpin the country's increasing importance to it as a source of both sales and production.

Xiaomi might hope for all the interest and eyeballs in India on April 18, 2023 with the global launch of its new 13 Ultra super-flagship smartphone - however, its high-end rival Apple has announced it might have found a way to distract consumers on that day, albeit in a completely different manner.

The Cupertino giant has revealed that it will hold a event to make its first ever completely first-party retail location official on the same day at 11:00 IST (07:00 CET). The store is found at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, and will be opened by Tim Cook, as will the second new Apple store found in Saket, New Delhi.

That location will go live from 10:00 IST (06:00 CET) on April 20, 2023. Apple asserts that their presence is just one part of "a significant expansion in India", a country that is indeed currently perceived as gradually taking over in terms of sales and also manufacturing from China.
