Anker's new alternative to the AirTag: Eufy Security SmartTrack Card E30 does not become electronic waste after a few years
In April of this year, Anker's Eufy brand announced two trackers for Google's "Find My Device". However, the products for Google's alternative to Apple's "Find My" network are not yet on the market, unlike the AirTags. A leak has just revealed a new version of the Eufy Security SmartTrack Card.
According to a post on Reddit, Eufy is about to launch its new Eufy Security SmartTrack Card E30 under the model number T87B1. This also comes in debit card format and is thus predestined for tracking and locating wallets, but can of course also be used for locating other things via Apple's "Find My" service.
The new Eufy Security SmartTrack Card E30, for which there is already a user manual on Eufy's official website, reportedly has a special feature. Namely, it is rechargeable, as opposed to the previous model and its non-replaceable battery. In the case of the latter, battery life is estimated to be three years, whereafter the product becomes electronic waste. The new version solves precisely this problem.
The Eufy Security SmartTrack Card E30 can be recharged via the included charging adapter with USB-C cable and two contacts on the card. The battery life is said to be up to 365 days, i.e., one year, before the 2.4 mm thin tracker has to be recharged again. According to the leak, it is also protected against water and optionally holds contact information via QR code.
It is not yet known when the new Eufy Security SmartTrack Card E30 will be officially launched, but it is unlikely to be long. How much it will cost is also unclear. However, it is likely to be much more expensive than the current Eufy Security SmartTrack Card, which costs around $30 at Amazon.
