Anker's alternative to the AirTag: Rechargeable Eufy SmartTrack Card E30 now available at retailers
A few days ago, the Eufy SmartTrack Card E30, a new AirTag alternative from Anker, appeared in a leak. Now, the new product is already available at retailers, at least in the USA and Canada. There, the Eufy SmartTrack Card E30 can be found on Amazon for $34.99 and CA$49.99.
Information on a launch elsewhere, such as in Europe, is not yet available. Either way, an RRP of around €35 to €40 can be expected based on the US prices. This means that the new variant would be €5 to €10 more expensive than the current Eufy SmartTrack Card.
The Eufy Security SmartTrack Card E30 offers a significant improvement over the Anker's first generation AirTag alternative in the form of an integrated- and rechargeable battery. The manufacturer includes a small charger and USB-C cable for this purpose, and advertises a battery life of up to one year. The first generation Eufy SmartTrack Card and its permanently installed battery becomes e-waste after around three years, while the new model is simply recharged.
In addition to tracking wallets and the like via Apple's "Find My" network, the Eufy SmartTrack Card E30, which is only 2.4 mm thin and waterproof, also has an 80 dB loud alarm, which should make it easier to find in certain situations. Contact information can also be optionally stored via QR code.
