Anker has unveiled the new Solix F3800 Plus Portable Power Station for the US market. This home backup solution, for use during power outages, was teased earlier this month. It follows the F3800 model, which crowdfunded in 2023.
There are two main differences between the F3800 and F3800 Plus power stations. Firstly, the F3800 Plus has an increased solar input power of 3,200W, up from 2,400W in the standard model. This means that the Plus can be connected to eight 400W solar panels, enough power to fully recharge the battery in 1.5 hours.
The second difference is that the F3800 Plus is compatible with 240V gas generators. This opens up another way for users to recharge the power station at up to 6,000W, with a full recharge taking 1.5 hours. Anker notes that its product will run more quietly than the generator, making it a better solution for home use. It is worth noting that users will need to purchase a Generator Input Adapter separately.
As with the original model, the F3800 Plus has a 3,840 Wh battery, expandable up to 26,880 Wh. There are six 120V 20A AC outlets with up to 6,000W output, which could be used to power a washing machine, dryer or air conditioner. There are also NEMA L14-30 and NEMA TT-30P outlets, three 100W USB-C ports, two 12W USB-A ports and a 120W car socket. On top of this, you can remotely manage the power station via the Anker app.
The Anker Solix F3800 Plus Portable Power Station will launch in the US on March 12th. Prospective customers are invited to sign up to a mailing list, giving them access to “exclusive early bird benefits”. These early customers will be able to purchase the product for $3,199 and get a free 400W solar panel (worth $899) and a protective cover (worth $99). They will also be able to purchase accessories like a transfer switch and generator adapter at a reduced price. As a reminder, the original Solix F3800 retails for $3,999 at Amazon.
