New leaks suggest that Anbernic has not one but two new 4-inch and 4:3 retro gaming handhelds in development. The pair would join the RG406V, which landed last month.

New Anbernic product releases stop for no man or woman. To recap, the company started selling the RG P01 and RG CubeXX this month. However, it also rumoured to have a multitude of new gaming handhelds in development.

For example, details about the RG ArcXX, RG406P, RG406H and RG408 have surfaced online this month alone. Initially, we suspected that the RG406P and RG406H may be the same device, given that they both are RG406 generation devices with a horizontal layout. New leaks suggest otherwise, though.

Once again, the RG406H has been pictured in a hands-on leak. In short, the device shown matches the RG406H earlier leak. Consequently, it looks like the RG Cube but with a wider 4:3 aspect ratio display. By contrast, the first alleged image of the RG406P reveals a squarer design.

Thus, it now seems that the RG406V (curr. $226.99 on Amazon) may be joined by two stablemates, not one. If that is the case, then we suspect the RG406H and RG406P will feature the same hardware as the RG406V. Consequently, expect to see both land with a Unisoc T820 chipset powering an Android 13 on 128 GB of UFS 2.2 flash storage paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, a 5,500 mAh battery and a 4-inch display that outputs at 720p.
