Anbernic RG P01: New budget wireless controller released with Hall effect joysticks and multiple connectivity options
Typically, Anbernic releases one new device monthly. However, it has decided otherwise in October. For context, only a week has passed since the company released the RG CubeXX (curr. $119.99 on Amazon) globally.
Now, it is the turn of the RG P01, which will be available at a reduced starting price until November 12. Incidentally, this is also when pre-sale orders will begin shipping. While the controller will only ever cost up to $17.99, it still packs plenty of features that many of its peers lack.
On the one hand, the RG P01 supports 2.4 GHz wireless, wired and Bluetooth connectivity via the Bluetooth 5.3 protocol. For reference, these connection options offer 200 Hz, 400 Hz and 150 Hz polling rates, respectively. On the other hand, Anbernic has included Hall effect joysticks and triggers, RGB lighting and two rear-mounted macro buttons.
Additionally, the RG P01 boasts a 600 mAh battery rated for 8 hours of gameplay in X-input, Android or Switch connection modes. Moreover, Anbernic has opted for conductive rubber across the controller's d-pad, ABXY buttons and shoulder buttons. Currently, the RG P01 is available in Black, Beige White and Radiant Purple finishes. Please see Retro Game Corps' review linked below for more details.
