Path of Exile 2 early access is now getting delayed to December
Path of Exile 2, the highly anticipated ARPG by Grinding Gear Games, will launch into early access in December instead of November 14. Game director Jonathan Rogers communicated the delay to fans via Path of Exile's official YouTube channel.

Rogers said he was "really sorry about this one" while announcing the new December 6 date for early access. He said the game was on track, but "service side infrastructure work" has unfortunately derailed their plans of launching in November.
The issue seems to stem from the promise of microtransactions working across Path of Exile 1 and 2. Rogers said to facilitate that, the team would have to "integrate the account systems for not only PoE 1 and 2 but console realms as well".
The team has to migrate eleven-year-old accounts across both games and ensure "the old data is backwards compatible" with the new systems that the team has built to handle the process. When dealing with legacy data this old, there are bound to be a few skeletons in the closet.
Rogers said the team wanted to deliver on this promise and to ensure "nobody loses anything they paid for". The game will now launch in early access on December 6, 2024.
