Zepp Health appears to be working on a new Rucking workout mode for Amazfit smartwatches. The new activity was recently spotted in the code behind the brand’s smartphone app. Plus, a representative for the company has also indicated that this frequently requested feature could be released.

A new Rucking activity appears to be on the way to some Amazfit smartwatch users. Rucking is an activity which has recently gained in popularity, a low impact exercise where you walk with a weighted rucksack or backpack. This feature is already offered on competitor smartwatches like the Garmin Fenix 8.

A Rucking mode has been frequently requested by Amazfit customers for some time. Zepp Health, the company behind the Amazfit brand, already offers over 170 workout modes on wearables like the Balance 2 (curr. $299.99 at Amazon). Now, Gadgets & Wearables has recently spotted the new Rucking activity in the code of the Zepp App (version 9.10.3). Rucking is listed alongside three other modes: Running, Hiking and Mountain Hiking. While it has been discovered in the app’s code, this mode is not visible to users in the app.

An Amazfit representative also indicated that the company could be working on a Rucking workout mode on Reddit. However, it remains to be seen when this possible Amazfit Rucking activity could be released. It is also unclear which of the brand’s smartwatches will get this feature.
