Amazfit has confirmed that the T-Rex 3 smartwatch will soon receive Zepp OS 5.0. This smartwatch was released in 2024 as one of the brand’s high-end wearables. It was last updated in mid-July with software version 3.9.4.4, bringing a new HYROX Training workout and more zoom functionality.
In a recent Amazfit Germany Instagram post (below), the company confirms that the T-Rex 3 will be getting a new Zepp OS 5 update “soon”. Zepp OS 5.0 arrived with the Balance 2 smartwatch. It can also be found on the Active 2 (Square), and has recently rolled out to the Active 2 (Round), Active 2 Premium and Bip 6 smartwatches (curr. $79.99 at Amazon).
Features of Zepp OS 5.0, or Zepp OS 5, include a new Jet Lag Manager, helping you to adjust to your new time zone. Users will be able to adjust the size of the font, making it larger or smaller based on their preference. Plus, there is a new version of the brand’s AI assistant, Zepp Flow 2.0.
Another Zepp OS 5.0 feature is the Golf app. However, a recent exchange on Reddit between an Amazfit representative and T-Rex 3 users suggests that this smartwatch may not get the Golf app. This feature has already been removed for users of the Balance 2 in some regions. A second tool which may or may not be pushed to the T-Rex 3 in its first Zepp OS 5.0 update is BioCharge. This energy level tracking metric is currently available on the Helio Strap, but development for users of the brand’s smartwatches is ongoing.
It remains to be seen when the Amazfit T-Rex 3 will receive its first Zepp OS 5.0 update; the company has yet to provide an exact release date.
