The Garmin Approach S44 and Approach S50 smartwatches have received a new stable update, version 6.58. It follows the 6.18 release in mid-July, which brought bug fixes linked to automatic shot detection and PlaysLike distances.
The change log for system software 6.58 lists several more bug fixes for these golf smartwatches. Two of these are linked to distances shown in Last Shot. Garmin has also resolved issues with mis-removed single-course update files, device club data and the Last Activity widget. On top of this, the process for resetting the watch after too many incorrect passcode attempts has been refreshed.
There are three further improvements only for the Approach S50. These include an updated user interface for the Breathing Variations feature and a tweak to the behaviour of the device passcode feature, ensuring that the device will not automatically lock when wrist heart rate is disabled. You can find the complete release notes below.
According to a post in the Garmin forum, system software 6.58 is now available for all users of the Approach S50 and Approach S44 smartwatches (curr. $299.99 at Amazon Marketplace). To install this update, go to the Garmin Golf app on your smartphone or Garmin Express on your computer.
