The Garmin beta version 17.27 update recently rolled out to users of some of the brand’s premium watches. This release tackles two issues, one linked to the watch face and the other to multisports activities. The related post in the Garmin forum suggests that users of the Fenix 8 and related smartwatches will be waiting a little longer for a stable release.

Garmin beta version 17.27 is now available for users of the Fenix 8 AMOLED, Fenix 8 Solar, Fenix E, Tactix 8 and Enduro 3 smartwatches. It arrives just a few days after the last update, beta version 17.25, which brought two bug fixes for possible watch crash issues.

The change log for beta version 17.27 lists two new bug fixes. The first tackles an issue linked to Multisports activities. A problem experienced by users when attempting to edit the Power Save Timeout Setting has been resolved. The second fix is for a bug which could cause the time shown on the watch face to be incorrect. It appears that the time would freeze until users interacted with the watch.

According to a post on the Garmin forum, this OTA update has already been rolled out to all users of the Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Solar, Fenix E, Tactix 8 and Enduro 3 smartwatches (curr. $899.99 at Amazon). The post also notes that, as is usual for beta updates, the ECG, Dive and Aviation features remain disabled. This suggests that the company intends to test more new features or bug fixes before issuing a stable version of the 17.xx software to all users of these wearables.
